They always tell you they grow up so fast so make sure you enjoy the each of every day with them. Personally before Carson I felt like time was dragging and going absolutely so slow. But obviously having a child changes your life, your perspective on life and everything else for that matter, and opens your eyes up to things you haven't seen in many years. Like sock puppets. Who knew putting a sock on yours hands, making them talk, and with your kid could bring so much joy to one little person. These are not even colored socks, just plain white socks. Boring socks! But to Carson they are talking dinosaurs, with names, color, tails, funny voices, and scales. These plain white boring Nike or Jordan socks that I wash every day and drive me insane because they are always missing their mate are one of the things that make Carson laugh the hardest. He laughs so hard his face turns red, he then snorts, and starts to cry. After playing sock dinosaurs with Carson for so long I now see the same thing he sees and hears. I see dinosaurs that have funny voices, a mind of their own, color, tails, and talk to one another.
The imagination is a powerful tool and as adults I think a lot of us forget about it. But having Carson has brought back that fun, creative, and vivid imagination I used to have. He is my breath of fresh air. He is sunlight on these horrible gloomy and rainy days. He is the reason I get up at 7 am to work until 5:30, 5 days a week, go to school full time, and I try to be the best possibly me I can be. Yes, I am a stay at home mother who is able to work from home and go to school from my couch, bed, floor, or kitchen counter. Are there days that I wish I got to leave the house, interact with adults, have conversations with people who completely understand, and get out of the house? Absolutely NOT! I wouldn't trade being a stay at home working Momma for anything. I love getting to be here every day when Carson gets out of bed and yells for me to open his door. I love getting to be the person that gets to see his new dance move, animal noise, new word, new discovery, and new everything each day. I do have conversations with a mini adult every day. I do interact with another person, he's just 1/2 my size and unable to open doors. I do get to leave the house. I get to leave the house to go to the park, just go for a walk, or take Carson out and about with me. I love it.
So why in the world would I trade dinosaur pancakes in the morning and snuggles before naps, for rush house traffic in the morning and sitting somewhere else wondering who gets to snuggle with my lil man before his nap? I wouldn't.
This is just a little welcome back blog entry. I will update more often now. I will definitely try to at least once a week, unless I am feeling frisky and have more free time. I do have a lot of things to update about such as- we are MARRIED now, Carson is turning 2 years old, and just our life in general.
More to come but until then...........
This is our turkey family. We made them for Thanksgiving =]
I think they are super cute.

The Turkey on the left looks like something out of a magazine did a professional make that one?
